Crypto influencer JackTheRippler (@RippleXrpie) highlighted a dramatic increase in XRP network activity, according to data from Glassnode. Active addresses on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) have surged over 490% since 2022, significantly outpacing Bitcoin’s 10% growth during that period. This significant jump underscores the growing momentum of the XRP ecosystem.
The rise in active addresses is attributed to increased retail engagement from investors who joined the market during the asset’s explosive rally that began in late 2024. Unlike Bitcoin, which experienced more consistent gains, XRP saw rapid spikes but quickly retreated before seeing a resurgence with a significant surge over 400% beginning in November 2024.
Glassnode confirmed this trend, highlighting the emergence of retail-driven momentum as a key driver for XRP’s growth. A fivefold increase in active addresses since its 2022 low indicates strong individual investor engagement. However, unlike Bitcoin, XRP’s trajectory experienced a shift from stability to dynamic growth.
The surge in activity is reflected in the XRP Realized Cap, which has climbed from $30.1 billion to $64.2 billion since its 2022 low. Notably, roughly $30 billion of this increase occurred in the past six months, suggesting concentrated buying activity around that period.
While this growth is fueled by strong retail speculation, a slowdown in capital inflows has been observed since February 2025. These observations suggest potential vulnerability to downside volatility. This shift is highlighted by Glassnode’s data showing a growing number of new XRP holders who entered the market at elevated price levels.
Ripple’s ecosystem continues to experience momentum with RLUSD, Ripple’s stablecoin, exceeding expectations. XRP has also shown resilience, recently recovering from a downturn. The digital asset remains popular among investors and achieved a historic milestone by becoming the most traded cryptocurrency on Upbit, South Korea’s largest exchange. This surge in attention and adoption could propel XRP towards its all-time high of $3.39, which it previously reached in January 2025.
