US Senate Proposes Fees on Data Centers for AI and Crypto Emissions

A draft bill introduced by US Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and John Fetterman aims to address the environmental impact of data centers powering artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrency. The proposed legislation, known as the Clean Cloud Act, would impose fees on data centers exceeding emissions targets set by the EPA.
