DeFi protocol Morpho Labs successfully thwarted a $2.6 million exploit after its frontend update led to a vulnerability, as white hat MEV operator c0ffeebabe.eth intervened. The exploit occurred on April 10th following an update designed to improve transaction flow in the Morpho Blue app. On April 11th, blockchain security firm PeckShield reported a potential exploit that could have resulted in funds being stolen. However, thanks to the quick intervention of c0ffeebabe.eth, the malicious transactions were intercepted and prevented from being executed. PeckShield confirmed that the stolen funds were transferred to a safe address. Morpho Labs subsequently reverted the faulty frontend update and restored normal operations after their investigation.
