Ethereum Heist: Hacker Siphons $1.5 Million in Crypto Through THORChain

A shocking crypto heist has been uncovered in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. A hacker associated with infrastructure firm Zoth is suspected of siphoning off 1000 ETH, valued at approximately $1.5 million, from a linked address. Blockchain security firm PeckShield alerted the crypto community via X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the transaction routing through THORChain, a decentralized cross-chain liquidity protocol before converting funds to Bitcoin (BTC) and Litecoin (LTC). This incident raises serious concerns about the vulnerabilities within DeFi and the sophisticated tactics employed by crypto criminals.
