Block Inc. Pays $40 Million Penalty for Cash App Regulatory Violations

Block Inc., co-founded by Jack Dorsey, has agreed to pay a $40 million penalty to New York regulators in response to alleged crypto compliance issues within its Cash App platform. This settlement comes amid increased regulatory scrutiny of the cryptocurrency sector following several non-compliance incidents.
