SEC Drops Lawsuit Against Helium Over Security Allegations

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially dismissed its lawsuit against Helium, the developer behind the decentralized wireless network, for allegedly offering unregistered securities. The dismissal, which includes prejudice barring future claims, comes just as the new SEC Chair Paul Atkins took office. 375,000 active hotspots currently contribute to the Helium Network. 2019 saw Helium launch its native token (HNT), and this action marks a significant shift in the SEC’s stance on crypto regulation.
