Hedera has partnered with Chainlink, integrating the Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to bolster cross-chain interoperability and accelerate decentralized finance (DeFi) growth. Chainlink CCIP facilitates seamless communication across 46 distinct blockchains, enabling Hedera’s developers to engage in token transfers, message dispatch, and execution activities between chains. Hedera cites the reliability and security of Chainlink oracle networks — which have supported over $20 trillion in on-chain transactions and $75 billion in DeFi value locked at its peak — as a testament to CCIP’s potential.
Hedera’s integration with CCIP builds upon previous collaborations, including the adoption of Chainlink Scale last year. Developers now gain direct access to deploy applications on over 41 chains, leveraging CCIP infrastructure and the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard for seamless token management. This allows developers to easily add existing or new tokens to the secure CCIP platform.
