Zipline Drones Reduce Ghana’s Maternal Deaths by 56%

A new study has found that Zipline’s drone delivery system significantly improves maternal health outcomes in Ghana, with a remarkable 56.4% reduction in maternal deaths at facilities served by the program compared to those not served. This groundbreaking research, conducted by GHS and Zipline researchers, highlights the transformative impact of reliable medical supply availability on healthcare utilization and overall maternal health. The study focused on 191 healthcare facilities across Ghana’s Ashanti region, analyzing data from 2017 to 2022. 56.4% reduction in maternal deaths at hospitals, health centers, and CHPS compounds served by Zipline compared to those not served.
