AI Avatar Fails to Impress Judge in Legal Appeal

In a surprising twist, a defendant’s attempt to use an artificial intelligence avatar to represent himself in a New York appeals court case has backfired spectacularly. Jerome Dewald, representing himself in an employment dispute, presented the AI avatar during a video hearing and was met with immediate disapproval from Judge Sallie Manzanet-Daniels.
