The U.S. stock market suffered its worst week in five years, with the Nasdaq Composite Index officially entering a technical bear market. On Friday, major indices closed sharply down, marking significant declines. The S&P 500 witnessed the largest single-day drop since March 2020, plummeting by 5.97% over the week, and fell nearly 10% below its all-time high closing record. The Nasdaq Composite Index experienced a similarly steep decline of 5.82%, falling more than 20% from its all-time high before officially entering bear market territory. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average also saw significant losses, dropping by 5.50% and falling over 10% below its all-time high closing record, confirming a correction phase.
