London Police Team Up with Law Firm to Recover Crypto Stolen Assets

London law enforcement has joined forces with Gowling WLG, a leading legal firm, to launch a new program aimed at recovering assets lost to cryptocurrency fraud and other crimes where criminal prosecution isn’t possible. This initiative offers victims a chance to reclaim their stolen funds through collaboration between police, lawyers, and the victim themselves. This approach builds on previous successes where the UK police successfully recovered £520,000 (approximately $671,000) in stolen cryptocurrency for an 80-year-old victim during a pilot project. Changes to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 enabled this initiative by granting police authority to freeze stolen digital assets.
