US Sanctions Eight Crypto Wallets Tied to Garantex & Houthis

The US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on eight cryptocurrency wallet addresses linked to the Russian crypto exchange, Garantex, and the Houthi group. These addresses were identified through data from blockchain forensics firms Chainalysis and TRM Labs, with two belonging to major crypto platforms and six privately controlled. Over $1 billion in funds tied to sanctioned entities have reportedly flowed through these addresses, primarily funding Houthi operations in Yemen and the Red Sea region.
