US House Advances Anti-CBDC Bill, Prepping for Vote

The US House Financial Services Committee has taken a major step forward by advancing a bill aimed at prohibiting federal banks from issuing or using central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). This action paves the way for a potential full vote in the chamber. 27 members voted in favor of the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act during an April 2 committee session, with only 22 members voting against.
