Crypto-Backed Candidates Secure Key House Seats as GOP Expands Majority

Republican candidates Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine secured crucial victories in Florida’s special congressional elections, bolstering the GOP’s narrow House majority while receiving significant support from crypto-backed PACs. Fine, who won the 6th District with 56.7% of the vote against Democrat Josh Weil, benefited from substantial funding from Defend American Jobs, a crypto PAC connected to Fairshake, a political network that raised over $116 million for the 2026 midterm elections and donated around $133 million for the 2024 elections. Patronis defeated Gay Valimont with 57% in Florida’s 1st District, further cementing GOP control.
