BlackRock Secures UK Crypto License, Boosting European Bitcoin ETP Operations

BlackRock has received a significant boost for its entry into the crypto market after obtaining authorization from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to operate as a registered crypto asset company. This move paves the way for BlackRock to manage its new European Bitcoin exchange-traded product (ETP) in the United Kingdom and across Europe, effectively fueling mainstream adoption of digital assets in these regions. BlackRock’s ETP trading commenced on March 25, 2025, with a competitive management fee structure (0.25% initially, dropping to 0.15% until the end of 2025) and is currently listed on major exchanges like Xetra, Euronext Amsterdam, and Euronext Paris.
