A hacker responsible for the recent ZkLend exploit has lost all of their stolen $2,930 ETH in a phishing scam orchestrated using a fake Tornado Cash website. According to on-chain data and a post from De.Fi Antivirus Web3, after initially attempting to launder the funds through what they believed was a legitimate Tornado Cash platform, the hacker inadvertently deposited the funds into a copycat site and suffered immediate loss. The attacker has since taken responsibility for their actions, publicly admitting defeat to the zkLend deployer’s address and requesting focus be placed on identifying and apprehending the phishing scam operators.
