House and Senate Reach Agreement on Stablecoin Legislation

The U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate have reached a consensus on their stablecoin bills, according to PANews. Following revisions and technical support from the SEC and CFTC, Chairman Bryan Steil stated that the House’s STABLE Act is expected to closely mirror the Senate’s GENIUS Act. Despite differences in wording rather than significant content, the main points of divergence lie in requirements for international stablecoin issuers, state regulation of these issuers, and some minor technical details within each bill.
