XRP Ledger Faces Security Threat: Vulnerable Library Sparks Urgent Updates

A critical vulnerability has been discovered within a JavaScript library used to interact with the XRP Ledger, prompting immediate action from developers and users alike. The discovery, made by Charlie Eriksen of Aikido Security, suggests a potential for unauthorized access to user wallets through a ‘supply chain attack’. The vulnerable library versions (v4.2.1 – v4.2.4 & v2.14.2) have been identified as the primary source of this risk. Fortunately, the XRP Ledger Foundation swiftly released a patched version (v4.2.5) to address the issue and urges affected users and developers to update immediately.
