Crypto Stealing Malware Hidden in Microsoft Office Add-Ins

Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky has uncovered a new wave of crypto theft leveraging fake Microsoft Office add-ins uploaded to the software hosting site SourceForge. These malicious listings, disguised as legitimate developer tools, incorporate malware called ClipBanker. This program replaces a victim’s crypto wallet address on their clipboard with the attacker’s, ultimately leading to the loss of their funds. 🤯 💻 The infected files include manipulated versions of Microsoft Office add-ins, creating a deceptive appearance while hiding the malicious code. Kaspersky emphasizes that criminals are increasingly targeting cryptocurrency users by disguising malware as legitimate software.
