North Korean Tech Workers Target European Blockchain Firms Amid U.S. Crackdown

The threat of North Korean infiltration into the blockchain sector has intensified as US authorities clamp down on activities by North Korean IT workers. According to a recent report from Google Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG), these workers are expanding their operations outside the United States, focusing on European blockchain firms due to heightened scrutiny in the U.S., and increased challenges regarding right-to-work verification. GTIG adviser Jamie Collier highlighted that North Korean operatives have established a global network of fraudulent personas to enhance their operational flexibility and infiltrate projects ranging from traditional web development to advanced blockchain applications.
